This course introduces the role of high-performance computing in biomedical research, especially when working with large-scale datasets that require more power than a standard desktop computer can provide.
With a focus on the CREATE HPC environment at King’s College London, it offers a practical foundation for understanding how HPC systems are accessed, structured and used in real research workflows.
Through hands-on online learning, you will develop key skills for logging in securely, navigating the Unix file system, managing and transferring data, and submitting and monitoring computational jobs.
Although the course focuses on CREATE, the concepts and workflows are transferable to other HPC and cloud-based environments such as AWS or Azure.
