Course information

This beginner-friendly course is designed for health professionals, researchers and administrative or academic staff who want to start working with data using R. No previous programming experience is required. Through practical examples related to health research, you will learn how to write simple code to organise, manipulate, analyse and visualise data from common file formats such as CSV, Excel and TXT.

The course focuses on practical skills rather than coding theory, helping you understand the basic language of R, work with objects and functions, manage missing data, and create clear visualisations using tools such as tidyverse and ggplot2. By the end, you will have the confidence to perform basic data tasks in R and continue developing your skills for your current or future role in health research or healthcare.
