Course information

This course introduces the use of the Galaxy Platform for processing and analysing Next-Generation Sequencing data. Designed for people with little or no bioinformatics experience, it shows how Galaxy can make computational biomedical research more accessible, reproducible and transparent, without the need for advanced programming or command-line skills.

Using a variant calling pipeline as a practical example, you will learn how to run bioinformatics tools, adjust parameters, follow guided workflows and understand how larger NGS analysis processes are built.

By the end of the course, you will have a clearer foundation for working with NGS data in Galaxy and applying these skills to biological sequence analysis, pre-processing and annotation tasks.

Learning objectives
